You’re then frustrated because you’re always late home and can’t get anything done there either. Or you used to be good at it but now you’re overwhelmed and don’t know how to change the situation. You dream of feeling more peaceful, in control and less anxious.

Relationships are perhaps the most important part of our lives, bringing meaning, comfort, happiness and fulfilment. When we are much older and look back, it’s usually the connections we’ve formed with others that we remember and that define us.

Good relationships are something we all strive for - wonderful relationships are even better. They can provide love, support, happiness, friendship, advice and guidance. However, if relationships break down, they can cause problems and emotional turmoil. It’s during these times that relationship advice can be extremely helpful.

We all experience relationship problems at some point in our lives: issues that arise with a family member, a friend, a lover or even a work colleague. If a certain partnership or connection isn’t fulfilling your expectations, this will affect your happiness. If relationship problems are left unresolved, negative emotions can develop, leading to a lack of fulfilment in other areas of your life. Everyone copes with and reacts to emotional situations differently, but if the issue isn’t discussed, it can be difficult to know how to resolve it or even to understand how it started.

Managing your finances more effectively and creating financial security


Money plays a major part in most people’s lives, and although it can’t buy happiness, most people believe it at least helps! Financial security can reduce the pressure and stress in other areas of your life, such as your relationships, work and lifestyle. However, if you’re struggling financially, you can feel enormous pressure to provide for yourself and your family. If your bills can’t be paid at the end of the month, or your debt has become unmanageable, you can find yourself in an extremely stressful situation.

There are many reasons why people get into debt, but it’s usually due to a change in personal circumstances - such as divorce, a new baby or a job loss. Facing up to debt problems as soon as possible and getting some debt advice is important. Ignoring the situation won’t make it disappear. These few initial steps can help you to start to manage your debt:

  • Decide on a budget and prioritise your debts.
  • Contact your creditors and let them know your situation.
  • Offer to pay off the debt at an affordable amount, even if this is small.
  • Resist unnecessary spending.
  • Cut up store cards and credit cards.
  • Try to find ways of earning a little extra money: perhaps by working more hours if possible.
  • Get some money advice from friends, family and professionals.

Living a healthy, happy life is something we’d all like to achieve, but what does it mean to live healthily?

Generally, it refers to the practices we use and the choices we make that could both improve and maintain our health. A healthy lifestyle might typically involve following a balanced diet, exercising regularly, and caring for your mental and physical well-being.

As the health and wellness industry continues to grow, it’s now very easy to find information online. However, much of this is conflicting. Whilst many people will be able to make healthy choices and maintain a healthy life, others need some guidance. Food and health are always in the media but many of us lack the in-depth knowledge that enables us to make the right choices. I can help you to understand what it means to live a healthy lifestyle, and will guide you through the changes you need to make.

Health coaching differs from personal training and counselling by promoting you as the expert in the partnership. It focuses on improving your quality of life rather than addressing an emotional or physical problem.

Healthy living involves making healthy choices in your daily life. When looking at behaviours that can put your health at risk, most people typically think of alcohol and substance abuse. Yet seemingly mundane habits, such as frequently focusing on negative thoughts, an unbalanced diet, a lack of exercise and too little sleep, can be just as harmful.

Whilst all of these behaviours are detrimental to your health, it’s the everyday habits that can be overlooked and can become dangerous in the long-term, leading to health problems. There are some lifestyle choices you can make that are relatively easy and, if they become habits, will have a positive impact on your daily life. These include:

  • having an empowered mind-set
  • following a balanced diet
  • drinking plenty of water
  • exercising regularly
  • maintaining a good sleep schedule
  • socialising and nurturing positive relationships
  • having a good work - life balance
  • practising self-care

Our world today celebrates being busy. It’s something we strive for, despite the fact that it can leave us feeling overwhelmed, as if we have no time and are drowning in our work. Surely, being busy is a sign of success?

Not necessarily. You can be busy, but in a job you hate, where you dread each morning or sit at your desk each day, bored and unfulfilled. You might be busy, but that doesn’t mean you’re happy. And recognising this isn’t easy. With so many responsibilities, it can feel as if you can’t afford to consider a career change. There are bills to pay, a family to support and a home to maintain – so shouldn’t you be thankful that you have a job at all, regardless of whether it makes you happy? Yes and no. Discover the source of your anxiety or stress and resolve it


Anxiety and Stress occurs when you feel too much emotional or mental pressure and can’t cope. Although some stress can motivate you to try new things and challenge yourself, it can also be inhibiting. We all deal with stressful situations differently, but not everyone can manage stress as well as others. It’s important to know when to slow down and when to seek help.

We all live very busy lives and stress can be caused by many situations, from meeting people or making a presentation at work through to dealing with money problems and relationship issues. When stress builds, it can have a negative effect on both our physical and mental health. Work-related stress, for example, can stem from having too much work and too little time; a poor work/life balance; or in-office bullying. If unmanaged, it can leave you feeling worried and demotivated, and you can become unproductive and even unwell.

Common symptoms of anxiety and stress include:

  • Physical: fatigue, headaches, insomnia, nausea, pounding heart.
  • Emotional: anger, depression, irritability, low moods.
  • Mental: lack of interest, loss of concentration, negative thoughts, poor judgement.

Designed for the Manager to help develop and improve management and leadership skills.


Managers are responsible for developing their teams and maximising their performance. As your organisation develops, your managers will need support to cope with new demands and to enhance their skills base to ensure that your business objectives are achieved. My in-depth experience of the pressures and problems faced by managers across a large range of differing circumstances enables me to offer highly effective coaching. I will both support and challenge your managers to help them to improve their performance.

This programme starts with a meeting between the Business Leader, the Manager and me, at which we’ll clarify and agree the key objectives, goals and success criteria. Typically, the programme involves six coaching sessions, although there can be more. I’ll hold a mid-term review with the Business Leader and Manager to assess the Manager’s progress towards the objectives and goals – and to receive feedback on the coaching process.

Following the final coaching sessions, I’ll hold a further meeting with the Business Leader and Manager to review the results achieved by the Manager, based on the success criteria and the agreed objectives and goals. There will also be an opportunity for final feedback on the coaching process.

Coaching Programme Example:

Recently a business owner contacted me as she was unhappy with the performance with her business. The business had “plateaued” and she was struggling to grow it. She was convinced that the problem was her strategy. I worked closely with my client to understand the history of the business and how she had come to this point. It became clear that it was not the strategy holding the business back - it was my client’s psychology. There was an unresolved personal issue in my client’s life that was causing her great concern and in turn this was also impacting on the business performance. Using a range of interventions and strategies we worked together to help her resolve the personal challenge in her life. We then moved on to create clarity on what she wanted for the business. She quickly developed energy and confidence. We created an action plan to improve her original strategy and then she implemented it. There was no stopping her! Earlier in the process we could have invested a lot of time and energy in the business strategy as this was the presenting issue - however as you can see this was not the root cause of the problem.
